Welcome to Generational Mom!
I am working through the complexity of understanding and managing expectations with multi generational children. Things get pretty interesting when you’re trying to be supportive of a 27 year old daughter who is an athlete and entrepreneur and a 5 year old son at the same time. I am new to blogging and working through the maze and all of the areas surrounding this experience. This blog will cover my recent change from having a 26 year career as an executive with a company to making the big decision to be a stay at home mom. Truth be told, if it was up to my husband I would have resigned when I found out I was pregnant in 2013.
After working for over 26 years with the company I never expected to resign and had all expectation of continuing on to the next level in my career. You know what happens when you make plans for your career that does not take into consideration being a mom to a 4 year old at my age and realizing that you are missing out on some of the most memorable moments of his development. I am enjoying every moment and I have to say being a stay at home mom is harder than being senior director to an operational team. What you can proactively plan for in the career world in some cases cannot be done with a 5 year old. I am having fun and making memories but the exhaustion is real and the lack of sleep is overwhelming.
